Wie du deine Ledertasche richtig pflegst (und was du auf keinen Fall tun solltest)

How to properly care for your leather bag (and what you should absolutely not do)

Hey! If you've bought a leather bag, you naturally want it to stay beautiful for a long time. Here are my honest, practical tips:

First things first: Less is more

Many people over-care for their bags. Leather is a natural material – it doesn't need daily attention. Once a month is perfectly sufficient.

What you need:

  • A soft, dry cloth
  • Leather care product (but please use a good one!)
  • patience

Here's how:

1. Remove dust: Simply wipe with a dry cloth. Sounds trivial, but that's half the battle.

2. Care: Apply a small amount of leather conditioner to a cloth and gently massage it in. Not too much! The leather shouldn't shine like a disco ball.

3. Let it soak in: Leave the bag overnight. Give it a quick polish the next day.

What you should NOT do:

❌ Do not use home remedies such as olive oil or shoe polish – these will only damage the leather.
❌ Do not place in direct sunlight
❌ Do not leave outside in the rain (obviously, right?)
❌ Do not wash in the washing machine (yes, some people actually ask this)

My insider tip:

If your bag gets wet: Stuff it with newspaper and let it dry slowly. Do not place it on a radiator!

That's it. No rocket science, just a little love and attention. Your bag will thank you! πŸ’Ό
